THE BAYSIDE COMMUNITY SPORTS CLUB This is a non affiliated non voting social membership catergory. SNOOKER AND BILLARDS SECTION There is an over 55 competition on Tuesday mornings starting at 10.30. The format is 2 games of snooker and one of billiards. Visitors are welcome. Tuesday nights will be a competition with the Southern Billiards and Snooker Competition. The format is 8 games of scratch snooker and starts at 7.30. The same format is repeated on Thursday night but it a handicapped format. The founding members of the new snooker and billiards section have come from the Bentleigh RSL and are delighted to have the use of our excellent facilities. There are 4 full sized snooker tables which include an original Alcock, Thomson and Taylor Billiard Table which was purchased by the Brighton Bowling Club in 1894. In 1901 The Brighton Bowling Club purchased another Alcock Table which was known as the Commonwealth Table and it was made to commemerate the Federation of Australia. The Billiard tables have been totally refurbished to the highest competition standards. |
